Strange But True
Guest Post written by Rubin Osborne
Tom Cruise isn't the media darling that he was 20 years ago. Known as one of the most handsome men in the movies, and a pretty good actor to go with it, he's always commanded attention from the media, for better or for worse. In the last few years, most of the media attention has been for the worst. I don't care. Tom Cruise has always been, and always will be, one of the most interesting actors in Hollywood, and it's for this reason that I rank him my favorite actor of the current generation or of any generation. Many people will disagree with me on this but I've got to stand my ground on this one. Tom has something that no other actor has ever had, though I can't quite define what it is.
Movies on satellite television from expertsatellite.com frequently play in my home and I never miss the chance to catch a Tom Cruise flick. Call me crazy, but I check every month to see if there's a Tom Cruise movie on the menu for the month. If it is, I set my schedule to play that movie right when it comes on. I make an event of it, popcorn and cherry coke, the whole nine yards.
Thanks to the many works of art that Tom has starred in and his fascinating, and somewhat frightening personal life, Tom ranks as my favorite actor today and tomorrow.
